Artist's Comments

ooohhhhh a photograph, not a manip, just a straight photograph.
Have not uploaded one of these in awhile. ;)
photographed with a Pentax 67 with Fuji Neopan 1600 film
lit with neon light bounced off the wall.
Scanned the neg and removed dust and did a custom quadtone.
If you do not know what a quadtone is , it is a technique
from the old days before there was color photographs, and the printing presses would do half tone printing what is still in use now, like you would see in your newspaper, but for magazines this looked bad so they would add a color and it would become a "duotone", if you added another color it would become a "tritone", anyways you get the idea. what it would do basically is make the tones of the images much more rich making the contrast have more range. I have always loved going to the printers and playing with this as it really has no limits to what can be done. They really don't do this to much any more in the magazines, now they just print everything in color even the black and white images, it is to bad as it is much richer and more beautiful.
The model is my muse Jonna and the title is in Irish, it means brittle, breakable, fragile

hi.

i can imagine. i remember what it was like when i first came here. and then, you've done this a few times and it prolly doesn't ever get any easier. so a gracious bow & courtsey to you. has health wise everything been alright now? it sure didn't come off to a good start.

and i hear you on those words of holiday. i could so use one right now as well. i'll be heading home for christmas, but i don't really consider that a holiday. more like needing a holiday after that again.

let me know when any mags or publications with your work are out?

i'll be in hamburg next week. but it'll be a hit and run trip with little time. unfortunately, because it's been so long since i've been in that city.

hope things are sweet and let germany be good to you.

ang.

bravo bravo bravo!! amazing. post-modern taking from the past! love it.

who styles your subject? hair? makeup?
:iconkelt:
a very good question, I been working with the same guy for 12 or 13 years , he is my best friend David Allen Jones, go here [link] and under make up look for his name.
We live in different countries now so I don't know how much more we will be working together , but he did teach me to do it myself as well, but that has it down side too, it really sucks if I can do make up better than the make up artist, which is often the case. :(
miss ya w00zy :P
