ooohhhhh a photograph, not a manip, just a straight photograph.
Have not uploaded one of these in awhile.
photographed with a Pentax 67 with Fuji Neopan 1600 film
lit with neon light bounced off the wall.
Scanned the neg and removed dust and did a custom quadtone.
If you do not know what a quadtone is , it is a technique
from the old days before there was color photographs, and the printing presses would do half tone printing what is still in use now, like you would see in your newspaper, but for magazines this looked bad so they would add a color and it would become a "duotone", if you added another color it would become a "tritone", anyways you get the idea. what it would do basically is make the tones of the images much more rich making the contrast have more range. I have always loved going to the printers and playing with this as it really has no limits to what can be done. They really don't do this to much any more in the magazines, now they just print everything in color even the black and white images, it is to bad as it is much richer and more beautiful.
The model is my muse Jonna and the title is in Irish, it means brittle, breakable, fragile

This is just beautiful in so many ways. The pose. The girl. The grain. Everything. (Suggested by `mnoo and Featured by `cweeks)
I'm talking more in the public eye sence. the places people see pictures on a regular basis, mags and such. sure the art world comunity is more experamental, but even with that artist now a days seem to want to shock instead of impress. just my views, i could be talking out my ass right now.
no, you are right , mainstream plays it safe to sell as many mags as it can to keep it's advertisers and readers happy.
most people don't care about good work only stuff they have seen before and is easy to understand.
the same goes for all media.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

you always seem to capture jonna in such a raw, vulnerable, uninhibited, natural, secretive and delicate eye.
that's your magic...
light.
and vision.
and moment.
[hope germany is being awfully good and kind to you]
